Thanks for the response, I’m coming back now to say I’ve figured this out.
Pagelines actually has a plugin to integrate with BBpress which lets you control this from their system.
If I could only figure how to get the right menu item to highlight when on the forum, can you assist with that? I’ve described the problem, and given the site information here: http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/wrong-navigation-current_page-need-css-help/
